Guide to the Budget Preparation of the Citizen’s Guide
to the Budget is one of the first projects of the Institute in the
field of public finance and at the same time is the first material
of this kind in Albania. The guide is prepared in a simple fashion,
in a way that itcan be used by all the interested parties that would
like to understand more about State Budget. This guide is addressed
to members of Parliament, civil servants, academia, students, business
community and citizens.
Antidumping
Guide This guide was prepared in collaboration with Chamber
of Trade and Industry of Tirana and it is designed to provide practical
information about anti-dumping actions for Albanian businesses both
of trade activities (export/import) and production activities.
PPFI is the selected Albanian institute for performing
research for enterprise policy assessment. The main aim for this
is to assess the extent of a country’s progress in developing
and implementing policies for enterprise and SME development and
in particular to obtain private sector feedback and views about
the effectiveness of enterprise policy. Albania

Research project funded by Global Development Network
(GDN) to undertake a regional research on “Globalisation
and Equity”. This research paper was presented at an international
conference in Cairo on January 2003.
Transforming utility sectors often requires significant
private investment, which depends on sectors open to market competition
and characterised by stable, transparent and predictable regulations.
Also, sustained growth and employment in SEE depend on competitive
and environmentally sound network supplies. Full

PPFI became part of regional research on “Restructuring
and Development of the Banking Sector in Advanced Transition Countries:
Lessons to be learnt by other transition economies”. The institute
worked on the research ”Bank
Restructuring Reform in Albania during the last ten years”.
The Partners for Financial Stability, a co-operative initiative
of USAID and East West Management Institute, financed the study.
